Special Focus on: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is the blanket term used to describe the wide variety of developmental, social, and behavioural issues surrounding autism. There are many different kinds of autism, and for each kind there are various degrees of severity of the symptoms in question for the treatment for autism.

Some of the most common symptoms of autism are speech and language development difficulties.

For a child or an adult who has been diagnosed with autism, and in need of autism treatments, communication can be very difficult. Many individuals with autism tend to be socially withdrawn. As a result, they do not interact with others easily and do not always develop their speech and language skills.

But we know that individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder WANT to communicate better! At The Speech Therapy Centres of Canada, we take great pride in the skills of our speech-language pathologists and their track record in helping children and adults with autism, and pervasive developmental disorder.

We understand that autism, and autism therapy, is not something that affects just individuals, but entire families. We work with families to help them better cope with the communication challenges of autism. We also share their joy as they watch their loved ones rise to the challenge and make improvements in aid to their help with autism and supplying autism support.

At The Speech Therapy Centres of Canada, we believe in the voice of every person with autism. We know that with commitment, perseverance, and a great team to support them, they can make great advances in using their voice.
